SO WHY CHOOSE TO TRAIN WITH PHILIPPE KARL?
___________________________________________________________
Even though there are many professional and Olympic riders in the world, not many can say they've earned the title of
Master. Although Philippe Karl is not on the International stage in the competition arenas, he is winning
GOLD MEDALS with the horses and thousands of people following his teachings across the World. In fact he saves many horses from rough treatment, deemed un-rideable from so-called 'Professional' stables, instead, shown a gentle and calm training system without force.
When one is prepared to stand in truth and total authenticity, their ideal of putting the horse first becomes their truth ~ as when the horses are totally honest in their opinions of certain riders, (tools, gadgets and force ~ bucking, rearing, bolting), so too must one become honest with themselves in every present moment to ask if what they're doing is correct and fair to one of the most beautiful of God's creatures.
Standing on the shoulders of many a Master before him, Philippe Karl studied long and hard the methodologies and techniques used Centuries ago. He has picked the typically followed German system apart and put the contradictions of it
and pieces of the Classical Principles of Dressage together for us to read and understand in his fantastic book,
'Twisted Truths of Modern Dressage'.
By applying common sense and logic to a systematic and gentle training approach, with an intensely strong theme of respecting the horse first and foremost, Philippe Karl has created an enormous following across the world where brilliant results are coming from great
and ordinary riders on talented
and untalented horses.
If you're searching for an alternative to the push/pull way of riding out there today, you will appreciate the kind, soft and respectful training of Philippe Karl. He says, "I'm sorry that I talk about the hands all the time, but with the hands, you are in touch with the most sensitive part of the horse." "If your horse is heavy and using your hands as a fifth leg he is not in self carriage."
Philippe Karl's Classical Dressage 4 x DVD set,
click here The Philosophy of Ease will give you the insight you need to become a thinking and sensitive rider. A rider who knows
how to train the movements,
what exercises to do and
why. What your horse needs to help him stay in balance and how to help him become light and soft.

TRAINING SCALE
~ RESPECT to the HORSE ~
"The poll is the last thing in training we want to close", says Philippe Karl. "How does the horse lengthen the reins? If he is standing in a normal position in halt, how does he lengthen the reins?...... By opening his poll." A perfect example of this is shown in DVD Teaching a Language, (
go to DVDs & Books). "To start with closing the poll first in training is asking for many problems."
When the horse is trained to use his back and neck in correct neck extension with forward movement, strength and suppleness create straightness and rhythm. The horse becomes gymnastic in exercises between lateral movements and neck extension which create strength and self carriage. Bending and counter bending exercises create straightness and suppleness. And lightness to the aids in all movements creates total self carriage.
There is a
science to the aids in Philippe Karl's training. A science not normally approached by modern day trainers. The poll must be the highest point and the nose of the horse must be on or in front of the vertical. FEI Dressage Rules state this very clearly. So how do you train a horse who goes behind the bit to take the bit forward and extend his neck?
Come and watch Philippe Karl!
How do you get a lazy horse to become very light to the leg? How do you get a heavy horse who travels like a freight train in your hands and runs constantly on the shoulders to lighten into self carriage?
Come and see Philippe Karl!
How do you train correct flying changes, with no lateness behind or grinding teeth, swishing tails or tension? And how do you train a sitting Piaffe (not one of today's on the forehand-triangulated Piaffes, with the rider doing more work than the horse)?
Come and study with Philippe Karl!
You won't be disappointed. He is a Master. And the horses prove it time and time again.
If you've been riding around and around in circles for years without knowledge of how to train clean flying changes, sitting Piaffe and expressive half pass, stop the cycle of repeating mistakes and using stronger and stronger aids. If you want to learn from the beginning and be certain of the
Philosophy of Ease that
is the School of Lightness, come and learn from Philippe Karl and Sylvia Stoessel in Australia. You will be amazed at the high school results you and your horse can achieve! And there is fun to be had along the way...
